A story about a 12 year old boy trapped on a desert island. He remembers nothing of his past.
For some odd reason, Bob felt that he should wait on the beach one last day, just in case. Once again, following his daily routine, he walked over, and jumped into the lean-to. For once, hope might prevail.
Day 6
Bob was packed up and ready to go trekking through the bush. The was one thing that he would miss about the beach, and it had nothing to do with scenery or comfort- it was the fact that people could actually see him there. In the forest, he had no hope of being seen. He started to walk through the bush, wondering what fate might befall him inside the jungle canopy.
The long walk had not turned up any results quite yet, no sign of any humanity. Through a stroke of luck, he had found a nice small clearing, to set up camp. It was quite tight, and Bob didn’t like the trees so close to the fire. However, he want against his gu feeling, and continued the set up.
He climbed into the lean-to, disappointed by the day’s search results, but knew that there was still much to explore. Little did he know, this would be the last night in this little tent, for better or worse.
Bob awoke the the sound of a blazing fire, larger that his own. Thinking that only a few leaves had caught fire. He was shocked to see a 50 blazing inferno, instead of a few small flames. He looked around quickly for an escape spot. There was nothing, he was just surrounded by flames. He would have to make a jump through the blaze.
Gathering his courage, he made a running jump through the flames. The heat seared his skin as he passed through. With a thud, he landed on the ground, unharmed. He looked around at his surrounding, and found that the fire had caused some pretty major damage to the surrounding area. He needed to get out of here.
With some pretty fast footwork, he managed to jump vines and roots, looking for the beach. All of a sudden, he tripped over a root, 50 feet away from the beach. The fire was advancing to him, and he couldn’t move. He never thought that his life would end this way.
By a stroke, of a stroke, of a miracle, two U.S.A. Search and Rescue official came toward him.
“Help me…” he managed to croak before he blacked out.

Bob Jean, (pictured above) has just been rescued from a remote, inhabited, island in the pacific Ocean, after a sailboat crash with his family. His mother, Debra Jean, was rescued from a lifeboat about 200 miles away from Maui. Bob has told his story, and was re-united with his mother just yesterday. He plans involve re-uniting with his friends, and hanging around home while his ankle recuperates.
