This is a short story that I made up I worked on describing the door. I hope that you enjoy it!!!
The Wrong Door
The water was freezing cold, it went up to my shoulders. Small ripples in the water made a splash me in the face as I walked slowly forward. I was walking on a coarse layer of sand that was very rough on my feet. There was a door in front of me the reflection of the door was green in the water even knowing that the door was actually a deep brown colour. I took a couple more steps forward then I noticed that the door was actually more of a gate with four cross bars on each side. On top of the gate section the part that opened was a semicircle shape filled with a diamond pattern wooden weaving part to stop bigger boats from entering it had four sections. I could tell that the area was a place to store boat because there were a lot of moorings.
I took a couple more steps forward the sand was still vary coarse and the water wasn’t getting deeper, yet. I could now defiantly tell that the door was made of wood because a couple of pieces had been chipped. I also notice that the door had some writing on it, it was in a very bold font. The writing was gold and it said TRAITORS GATE. Since I had walked into the light the reflection was gone then I could tell that the gated didn’t go all the way down to the sand I had found a way out.
I took more steps forward the sand had become thinner causing me to sink in it. I had to start swimming because the water and the sand that was making me sink were putting both my nose and mouth underwater. I couldn’t breathe I was stuck under a tree root or something submerged in the water. I unhooked myself and resurfaced coughing up some water I had swallowed it tasted salty. The bricks that were surrounding the gate were cream, some of the brick that obviously get wet in the tides had moss on them.
I had finally reached the gate to find that it was locked. It was locked with a huge old fashioned lock I thought that the key to it would have to be massive. I didn’t need a key because I could just dive under and resurface at the other side. That’s what I did I dived the water was very blurry but I could still see the gate. I grabbed the gate there were barnacles that I couldn’t see they cut open my hands. I resurfaced at the other side.
The light was shining in my eyes it was burning hot in the sun. I looked around the channels it looked like Venice. There were the same bricks on all of the buildings, they all had moss. Some bricks had barnacles on them witch made me thought that the ones inside were cleaned.
I started swimming down the channel then a merbau coloured boat started driving towards me, it was going really fast. There were waves on each side of the boat with white water toppling over the sides. The engine was really loud like a Harly Davidson motorbike. I shouted out ‘stop’ the driver didn’t hear me so then I started waving my arm the driver didn’t see me. There was nothing I could do it was coming so fast. The boat hit me. I blacked out.
