I tried to narrate an event that happened in real life with lots of modification, Names are not real.
Joshua, Isaiah and Paul were all brothers of the same parents. During their youthful days, they cooperated in everything they do. Their parents are not rich; therefore, they had to move out of the village to the city to secure means of livelihood. Jobs in the city were not problems at all. You choose the kind of job you want to do. In fact in those days one can change jobs when there is not job satisfaction. Education is not a serious criterion in securing a job. The ministries of labour move in their van from community to community seeking for able men who are willing to work depending on where vacancies exist.
Paul the youngest got a job at state ministry in the state, while Joshua the eldest and Isaiah all got job in Kaduna textile and united textile respectively, they were all single. As they star life in the city they lacked nothing. The three brothers spend each festivity in the village since they were born and brought up in the village and whenever they are in the village either put on in their parent’s house or squat with friends. They are highly attached to their culture especially the Affan festival popularly known as the kagoro day celebrated every first day of January. The festival is highly respected as all sons and daughters of kagoro kindred wherever they are make sure they attend this festival. Joshua and his brothers are not left out of the festival
As time passed by, Isaiah bought a piece of land in the village and Joshua being the eldest suggested that they should build on it so that whenever they come to the village during any festivity, they can now lodge there. Meanwhile, in the city they are all tenants. Paul had more money compare to his brother and therefore, decided to single handedly raise the building to the roof stage. Joshua being the eldest doesn’t want to be seen as not being contributing decided to do the roofing and Paul finally put the doors and the finishing. It was a three bedroom flat, meaning each person has a room to himself with the key while the parlour, toilet and bathrooms are shared.
After some years Paul the youngest impregnated a girl and took her as wife, not long after Joshua the eldest did the same and took the girl as wife. Isaiah being a gentle man and one who follow procedure prepared, propose to a girl, went into courtship before they finally got married three years after his brothers. Their culture of going to the village during festivity continues, but this time with their wives and children.
