“As you’re walking away, your footsteps get louder. All you needed was time, But now time will destroy us.” Break ups are always tough and whenever I hear this song it reminds me of my friend Tom. He was a great guy, he was fun, always in a great mood, he was very athletic, and he was the life of the party he made life worth living. He also had this amazing girlfriend where they clicked on every level of the relationship; no matter how hard things got between school, work and home they lived life in love. I keep this song close to me because for everyone else it appeared like they were the perfect couple but what is on the outside doesn’t reflect the inside and there were hardships and trouble from within. After a few months I noticed Tom wasn’t the guy he used to be, he was lazy, moping, he didn’t want to do anything and I didn’t think about it, I did try to hang out with him as much as I could. Then the one day he tells me about how much he cares about me and how great of a friend I am, I was a bit worried but I told him how great of a friend he was to me as well. Well a week after that day I didn’t see him in school and I thought that he was probably at home playing video games or maybe that he had the cold but I was wrong. It turns out that the weekend him and his girlfriend had gotten into a huge argument and he became depressed which I understood because everyone thought of them as the perfect couple. When I got home was when I found out why he didn’t come to school. He left me a note in my room it had the lyrics from a song
