A little boy named Todd that has an experience of a best friend for the first time.

There was a little boy named Todd and he had no friends or family what so ever, he lived in an orphanage in New York around the city.  He likes to read and write to keep his mind focused and to keep himself from looking at others with friends, or family.  This would tear him apart to where he has to force his tears back, and having a feeling of shame in his heart, he felt alone all his life and no one was there for him.  He would often go to night and wish that he did have a friend and stay awake all night wanting something that he knows he won’t or can’t have.  He’s given up too quickly and there was nothing to change the thought.

Until one night he fell into a deep sleep and was aware of that he ended up in a weird house with nobody in it and once again he felt alone.  The house looked very old and dry on the inside, he didn’t know what the outside would look like but didn’t worry about anything.  He cried and laying down on the old crusty carpet in a feeble position but heard some barking behind him, he jumped up in fear and turned around really quick.  There stood on four legs wagging its tail back and forth and were a very bright white furry color and the looked curiously into Todd’s eyes.  Todd didn’t know what to do, so he backed up slowly to get away from the furry unknown creature, he felt like he’s seen it before then screamed out loud “it’s a puppy!”  The puppy crouched onto the floor looking at Todd cautiously Todd felt bad and slowly held his hand out to the puppy.

The puppy stood up and licked the boys hand, Todd laughed and giggled rubbing the puppy’s back and felt a joy in his life.  Todd asked the dog “will you be my first best friend?”  The puppy looked back at Todd eyes opened wide, barked and licked the boys face.  Todd was overpowered with joy, he felt like he had to tell the world that there was a new change but no he didn’t think nobody would care to listen.  Todd laid himself down on the floor talking to the puppy like it was his friend and would play games.  Later on Todd was tired and said “I need to give you a name before I go back to the orphanage.”  The puppy wagged his tail nonstop, “I know” says Todd “I will name you Todd.”  He laughed and thought it was cute the puppy ran around him in circles with excitement, but Todd had to leave.  He felt like not going anywhere but staying with his new friend, he told the puppy “Todd I’ll be back tomorrow after school alright, and I’ll bring something to eat, just promise you won’t leave or anything okay?”

The puppy jumped up and barked excitedly, Todd got up and brushed himself off, and then he went to the front door as soon as he opened the door a bright light flashed before his eyes.  The boy Todd never had a best friend or anything but at least had the experience of knowing the feeling before he disappeared in the world of living.
