I have just graduated from high school. Life is perfect for me, until I met him.

He isn’t the most handsome but he is definitely looking good to me and other girls. For some reasons, I am attracted to him and for some reasons as well he keeps looking back at me.

My best friend Allen has a pet peeve. She doesn’t like boys as much as I do and when I told her that this guy is cute, she scolded me for hours, saying how I should have spent time thinking about where I should further my studies and all.

I know she is mad at me. However, I don’t think she should be mad just because I like boys and she doesn’t.

Days later, he asked me out for a date. I agreed but then again, Allen is furious again at me.

This time, she said I have been ignoring her for some boy.

“Allen, I like him, and I like you too, but this is two different matter. You are my friend and he is going to be my boyfriend, whether you like it or not.”

From then on, she is ignoring me all the time. We no longer spend time together.

Meanwhile, Gary (the guy) has been going out with me for some time and finally he uttered those words that I have been waiting to hear.

“I love you”.

It is as simple as that and we have become a couple for years now. We go to the same place to study although we are studying different subjects.

Until today, he is still with me and I am sure he is the one for me.

As for Allen, I heard she got into a better place as well and doing medical.

I guess sometimes, you can’t have both cakes. You need to sacrifice one to get a better one.
