Tranquil moments
written July 3, 1992.

Lesurely I stroll to the  old swimming hole.

How peaceful and quiet it seems,

and as I gaze upon its undistrubed water,

I see unique beauty, beyond all dreams.

I stand and listen to the constant flow,

a monotonous sound as it journeys on,

rippling as it runs through shallow water,

leaves float by, and then they are gone.

The sound of a twig falling into the water…

in the distance, the chrip of a bird.

The deep silence seems so uncanny,

a short while ago, voices and laughter were heard.

Autumn now quiets the commotion of summer,

for these tranquil moments, I am blessed.

As I enjoy these surrounds, I heartily agree,

even nature sometimes needs a rest.

Beautiful. Very descriptive. I almost heard the twig hit the water.
