This is a short story I wrote in preparation for my English Exam to apply for a school.

Trapped

In a small village in central Africa it was a sunny hot day. The kids were playing near the river and the some of the women were farming and some were looking after the children. Most the men were hunting.

It wasn’t often that a car would drive through the village but in the distance you could see 6 jeeps with no roof and about 6 people in each of them. When the jeeps got closer the people started to panic because they saw that they had AK-47 assault rifles and RPGs (rocket propelled grenades). Most of the village started to flee but they knew it was too late.

The men and boys got out of the jeeps some of the kids were only aged nine and they had guns! They started to shot people in the village and set fire to their houses. It was obvious these men had tricked these children into being little devils.

The sound of the machine gun fire and screaming was so loud. Soon after most of the adults were dead they went and put the kids in there trucks. The children were taken on a long bumpy journey through the African desserts.

When they arrived at their camp they saw adults there all with guns who were drinking and firing guns up into the sky. Most of the children were so scared. By nightfall they had all been put into a little hut.

The next day some of the leaders asked the children who there best friends were and than they would get the two kids and give one of them a gun and say to him “You shoot him or ill shoot you bough!” by the end of the day most of the children were gone.

The kids who were left were now going to be re-educated, but to be horrible ruthless thugs, they were now trapped and their life expectancy dropped by about twenty years. They will now be doing what was done to them, stealing and murdering. Their lives have been ruined.
