Brandi wants a man, now! Once she finds him, it turns out that he’s more than she bargained for.
Brandi grew up in Nashville, Tennessee with her sister, Kimberley, and her mom and dad and their crumbling marriage. Brandi has always been the spitting image of her mother, inside and out. She has the good looks, the charm, all except for one thing. She is determined to not have to depend on a man. After Brandi leaves her job and moves to Chicago in order to be with her fiance and start a new life, she suddenly finds out that her fiance has cheated on her. He will not be coming to Chicago. Brandi is now left to provide for herself.
Extremely irate and depressed at the same time, Brandi decides that she’s not going to be like her mom and sit and mope for the rest of her life. She instead, goes out, buys the prettiest outfit she can find, and heads out to a party that she knows will be hosting a lot of good looking, rich men.
She finds exactly what she is looking for. Roberto. He is a tall, dark, and handsome Italian who has everything she wants for the night. That’s all she wants is one night with him. She gets that one night and leaves the next morning.
Brandi ends up landing a job at a huge lawfirm and come to find out, her next client whom she must defend is Roberto. Apparently he is a big time jewlery theif. Brandi and Roberto clash in the beginning because she doesn’t like how Roberto wants to be so open about the happenings of the night she wished to forget.
Of course, Brandi eventually falls for Roberto, and because she must defend him plus spend lots of time with him because of their relationship, so she ends up learning all of his deep, dark secrets. This leaves Brandi in a situation that she doesn’t want to be in. She is defending a criminal.
However, Roberto keeps reassuring Brandi that everything is fine and that she needs to trust him. But will she? Brandi faces many trials and tribulations throughout the entire book. Confused and in love, plus putting her job at risk, she must make smart decisions or risk losing it all. Even perhaps her life.
