A short story and social realism about what it’s like to be rich. It’s probably not my best work so I’d really like to know what you think.

“Don’t you think it’s a little early to be proposing, Sir?” questioned Samuel.

“Samuel, you don’t need to call me Sir all the time. And I don’t think it’s too early. I know she’s the one and she’s such a beauty. I love her so much.”

“Well, I don’t know if it’s a wise decision, but it’s not my choice to make so whatever you think.”

A few minutes later, John received a phone call from Alison.

“Hello,” said Alison charmingly.

“Good morning,” responded John.

“John I couldn’t sleep last night. I’m worried. If something were to happen to you I would not be able to survive. I’ve given up my job and house and have no security without you. This last week I talked to a friend of mine whose fiancé died but thankfully put her in his will so she was able to keep going.”

“Don’t worry, Alison, I’ll call my lawyer right away so you don’t need to be concerned about that. But don’t worry, nothing’s going to happen to me. ”

“Great, honey. Now that that’s off my mind, I will focus on our wedding plans. I can’t wait to see you tonight.”

John then joyously called his lawyer. All day, John couldn’t concentrate because he kept thinking of Alison. As soon as he was done for the day, he rushed outside and called for his limo. The driver said he was a few minutes away and would arrive as soon as possible. While he was waiting, John couldn’t help but notice a sense of danger in the air. He didn’t think much of it because he spent every moment thinking of Alison. As he saw the limo pulling into view, he walked a few feet to where it would pull over. He suddenly heard a gunshot behind him. He turned around and glanced at Alison’s gorgeous face as he heard another gunshot. He felt severe pain for a moment before everything went black.

Seems to be rather interesting…I’ll have to see the other chapters though! (I don’t know if you put them in a previous article- if you did, that’s cool- I’ll check it out as soon as I can.)

Excellent reading. Even the rich has woes which proves that it doesn’t matter which side of the track you travel, you can have the same emotions.
