Rue Story – I saw something in my living room that I assume was an angel, but since I have never seen one, I can’t be sure. I was watching a minister on television at the time and it was one of those services that really move you. There were other "spiritual" things going on at this time as well.

In or around 2001, I was alone in my living room.  It was summer and very nice outside.  I had an old friend staying with me at the time who is a sort of Missionary for God, but in a closed sort of way.  I had known him since we were kids and his family went to a very strict church.  At home, they had no television, the girls couldn’t cut their hair or wear make-up, nor could they where any skirt above the ankle.  I remember this particular friend as a kid, sitting on our front porch looking into our living room at the television.

We were an interesting contrast of families.  My family rarely went to church, although we had been raised in church and taught at home mostly by my mother.  Most of the churches I attended were in southern Georgia.  I had already, by age seven, seen some weird things happen in church.  No matter to me though.  I knew who God was when I was three.  My friend’s family were on their way home from Wisconsin and had a very serious car accident.  The church that they had attended for many years didn’t offer them any financial help whatsoever.  My mom helped them though, and we didn’t have much to help with.  That’s the way of my family.  The friend that stayed with me had had a crush on me when we were younger.  He had later gotten married and so had I.  He had come to speak to my new husband and I about getting saved.  We had gone to the church they attended and it was not for me.  The lady pastor yelled at the congregation to settle down and listen to her.  But he had given me a book called, “Power for Living”, and I was saved at the age of twenty-six.  I am now forty-seven.

My friend and his wife divorced and I lost contact with them.  My friend and I would run into each other from time to time but I didn’t really know what his life had truly been like, not even when we were kids.  When he came to stay with us, he had been staying with a friend of his who called himself a pastor but was, in my opinion, not very Christian-like.  My friend said he had felt very uncomfortable staying there and seemed to be a little lost since his divorce which he spoke of frequently.  I, of course, was having my own battles.  But I was never given to the opinions or advice of other people too much.  I always went with God and what He had to say, so the
