An alien force threatens earth and six youths are on the front line whether they want to or not.
“With the technology now-a-days, people can tell if it is going to rain weeks in advance.” When all six had piled in two trucks, Falkier remembered his package.
“Oh snap, I forgot to go by the post office. Sam, call Jason and tell him.” Falkier pulled his truck into the post office parking lot, he, Sam and Jason jumped out.
“Where are they going?” Rebecca asked.
“Don’t have the slightest” Lauren responded.
Inside, Falkier signed the papers and flashed his driver license.
“Going to watch the eclipse tonight?” asked the man at the desk.
“Intending to, if it don’t rain.” confirmed Falkier.
“I told you, if it was gonna rain, we would hear about it. There isn’t a cloud in the sky, perfect conditions.” Sam said with a hint of a condescending attitude.
“Well, where we gonna put it? My truck or yours?” Jason asked Falkier.
“How much room is in yours?” Falkier wondered.
“Not much.”
“Well we could put some of your stuff in mine and put this in yours.”
“Okay.”
At about noon, they arrived at the cabin they rented.
“We’re here.” Falkier notified. They unpacked and brought their stuff into the cabin. It was a six room log cabin with a den, kitchen, three bath rooms, and a semi-open air porch complete with a wide screen satellite TV. The boys would be on the bottom floor and the girls on the top. Falkier, Jason, and Sam went to get the package out.
“Man, this is heavier without the mail dude helping.” complained Sam.
“Let’s put it over there, by the porch, on that level bit of ground, so it doesn’t fall over.”
“So Falkier, what is it?”
“Well, Jason, it is a telescope. A big telescope with-”
“With 500x optical zoom and 1000x digital zoom and Integrated tracking system and manual and automatic stabilization system and infrared and ultraviolet scope and-”
“Slow down, Sam. Don’t blow a processor. We need you to help us put it together.”
Later that night, with the telescope constructed, it was larger than Jason who played linebacker in football. “Well, there it is… soooo… how does it work?”
