An alien force threatens earth and six youths are on the front line whether they want to or not.
“Then we really need to capture it, before they move it to Earth and attack.” Falkier said looking up from a mapping system that showed the layout of the whole ship they were on.
“Warning, core contamination shield disengaging. Reflux Capacitor leak eminent. Time until shield disengage: Seven minutes, thirty-eight seconds. All personnel evacuate the core level.” A voice said from a speaker in a wall.
“Someone has gotten into the core. They are trying to shut down the shield.” Yeen touched a panel and it lit up showing a diagram of the lower levels of the ship. “Troops are on their way to stop them, whoever they are.”
“That must be Jason and friends.” Sam told Yeen about the second team.
“Then we don’t have much time. You have to get to the OSS and-” Yeen was interrupted by a knocking from the door.
“Yeen, those humans that got on the ship, we think they might be in the core.” The door opened and a female Gorthok stepped in. She looked much like the male Glorthoks but her horns on her head were swept back and went down the back of her neck. Oh, never mind, Yeen, they’re in here.”
“Yes, this only half of them. Falkier, this is Sluithfregashatolune. Just call her Sluith. She is in the resistance. Sluith, there are humans in the core. Three are here and three in the core. Falkier, you have to get to the OSS and take off. If our plan is working, Jinkta is with your friends and he is helping them.”
“Then we need to hurry to the OSS. We have about six and a half minutes to get there.” The three humans and two Glorthoks left the room and walk down the hall to another lift. Yeen pushed the button to summon it and they waited. The lift arrived and the doors opened. Falkier, Sam and Shelly dove to the left of the doors and Yeen to the right but Sluith hesitated and it cost her, dearly. A massive electron blast caught her square in the chest. Falling back several feet, Yeen tossed a grenade into the lift, the explosion pierced Falkier’s ears and he heard a ringing. Looking up he saw Yeen standing over Sluith picking her up off the floor. She appeared unharmed except she was having a hard time keeping her balance.
