Head or tail, it’s still a coin.
We are living in more sophisticated world with technology driving almost every component of life. Undoubtedly the tech evolutions produce huge potential for better material applications, medical care, fulfillment of senses enjoyment and creation of vast knowledge base.
One thing lacks the spiritual and emotional articulations, is the inner happiness of a human being far drifting away from the speedy progression of technology — for human physique go opposite direction of the innovations. Among routines, emotions, appreciation and expression, we age, fall sick and eventually depart.
It would be a grateful every moment when we find a thing to impress and promote a stir of ripple in the sea of our heart, we then treasure the occurrence of what we see and feel at that occasion.
Sometime ago, two families met at a social event. One of them has cats at home, the other has not. They both have young children. Half way through the function, a few kids found a tiny kitten hopping playfully around bushes. “Stop touching the cat John!” cried out the mother who didn’t keep pets. Her little son asked, “Why?” “Cat is wild animal and will bite you when you try to touch it. Moreover it is filthy and will spread animal disease.” the woman said to her son. With disappointment, John left to play with other kids elsewhere.
A small girl walked quickly towards the kitten after John’s gone away. She held the cat in her arms and pat it lightly on it’s short fur. The cat lied quietly in her hands apparently it enjoyed the company and treatment. “Oh, what a lovely kitty! Why did you find from it girl?” The small girl said, “Dad, I saw it running in between the bushes and I came to it when it was left alone by a boy just now.”
“Girl, this is a cute little one but please don’t play rough with it. You should hug and hold it close to you to comfort it so it will feel good. Leave it at where you found it when you are done playing with the cat.” The girl burst out a florid smile and thanked her father. She continued to hold the cat and going among the kids showing them this new “Friend”.
In another scene at a nearby coffee stall. Two other families were finishing their meals. Cleaners at the stalls came by and offer to clear and clean the table. The elderly man of one family stared at a cleaner and told him to come back later. The members of the other family sat a few tables away thanked the cleaner who removed the plates and cups from their table.
A few minutes later, the cleaner went back to the first table. He received a rude shout by the same man who told the cleaner to come back momentarily, before the cleaner could land hands onto the messed table. The father threw out, “Can you not disturb us talking or not?!” angrily.
There are two sides of a coin, head or tail? It is still a coin. One has to learn to accept multiple facet of life, then there will be peace and happiness.
