What actually happened?

The Story

September 26, 2009….. That was an unforgettable day…. Why? Because this was the day when the tropical storm Ondoy or Ketsana(International Name) hit the Philippines. It was on this day when many lives were lost. Houses, furniture, rice fields, cars, appliances, offices and other things were also lost. The damage that this typhoon inflicted on objects costs over a billion pesos. People thought this storm was a weak storm because it is categorized Signal #1 (Category 1 a.k.a WEAK!) . The storm had very weak winds but, the water the storm carried was a lot. If it rained for 24 hours the WHOLE Metro Manila(Capital of The Philippines) would be submerged in water. Well it only rained for less than 12 hours and yet the floods,in some places, reached up to the roofs of their houses. I also remember listening (all day long) to reports about people asking for help because the flood reached up to their houses.

Why did this happen?

Well it’s because of us! Not just the Filipinos but E-V-E-R-Y S-I-N-G-L-E O-N-E O-F U-S! Not me not you, EVERYONE. Even the people of America,Russia,Japan,Canada,Mexico,Antartica and much more!!! Why? Because we keep on throwing garbage here throwing garbage there. We also use cars, burn garbage and forests, deforest mountains for us to live. These are all OUR contribution to global warming and climate change. Right now, as im writing this post, I cant tell you what the weather is. Its more like of a… um…. COMBINATION! Its windy, sunny, rainy and cold right now all at the same time! This is what we call climate change. Now when its windy is hot! But I dont see the sun…. This is what we call global warming. So how did Tropical Storm Ketsana have so much water? Well if you ask me ill say…. “Nah… It’s just because the dams released so much water while the storm is happening… Its called coincidence!” But no….. PAGASA(Its like your NASA) said that they had 300+ cubic centimeters of water on their rain gauge! So I dont know… Greenpeace says its global warming. While some people say its the dams….. Im not saying its their fault but… I think its coincidence…

So it’s your choice to vote!

Either it’s our fault or it’s our fault!
