A tale of undying love, an ultimate sacrifice, get the tissues ready.

John and Sue had been together for nearly 4 years,a sometimes stormy relationship but there was never any doubt they were a perfect match.Childhood sweethearts from secondary school,he was the cool one always in trouble but more playful than bad,she was the quiet scholarly type,a little shy and reserved but stunningly pretty.

She never really noticed him,he was always a bit loud and off playing football or in some sort of fight or another, not the sort of person who she would ever talk to.She was from a wealthy middle class family, her father worked at the bank, her mum was school secretary,he was from a working class background, his father a farm labourer, his mother a stay at home housewife, total opposites really.

One day she was walking to school when 3 older girls from the girls only school across town decided she was an easy target and stopped her, they pushed her around, emptied her school bag onto the ground, trod on her books, trying to get her to fight,Sue was too quiet to fight back and besides there was three of them, much older and bigger, she started crying which only made matters worse as the bullies were loving it,one slapped her hard across the face, another started kicking out at her, things were going from bad to worse and Sue was frightened and alone, then from nowhere John appeared and pulled her behind him,”leave her alone”he said with a low menacing growl “shes with me”,they were in their comfort zone with Sue,but John was a different matter, big for his age and with a bit of a reputation, after a few words of bravado they went on their way.

Sue was stunned, she,d seen this lad at school but never thought he,d stand up for her,he walked her to school and from then on they were firm friends, still in different circles but would often walk to and from school together, more brother and sister than anything else.
Nobody would pick on her again.

They left school at sixteen and went their seperate ways,Sue went to University to study and John got a job in a local garage, they were to not see each other again for 10 years.
They met out one friday night by chance,he had never moved away and she had moved home to her parents after a relationship break-up,at once they got on as if they had never been parted and started seeing each other every night,John was still John but Sue had grown up a bit, still quiet but not a pushover anymore, they were made for each other, after a year they got a flat together.Every went fine for the next three years,Sue got a job locally, while John still worked  as a mechanic, things were great.
John had been getting headaches for a week or so,sometimes so bad he,d be physically sick,he seldom went to the doctors, always strong and healthy and never wanting to make a fuss but Sue made him an appointment and made him promise to go as her father suffered migraines and she thought John was having them too.

Marvelous story and well written. It tugs on the emotions. I wanted John to live but all considered it was a perfect ending and you pulled the whole thing together beautifully. Aside from a few grammar errors I give this two thumbs up. Great job.
