A short story.

I looked on towards my uncle’s big old mansion. I had been looking forward to this day for weeks. The only time I got to see my uncle was during Christmas, or my birthday. Even those times weren’t that enjoyable because my aunts just keep on going. “How much you’ve grown!” or, “You’re getting so handsome!”, but this time, I was the one who’d get to see my uncle’s famous mansion.

My cousins were jumping off the ceiling into something I couldn’t see, maybe a pool? Well I sure wanted to try! As soon as my parents stopped, I flew off into my uncle’s house. It was huge! The smell of barbeque filled the air, with hints of corn and baked potatoes. My uncle greeted me happily, “Hey kiddo! My have you grown!” “Uh thanks uncle, hey can I go to your roof?” I said, “Sure! Why not? Follow me!” I followed my uncle towards some steep stairs and up into the roof.

Wow you could see everything from there! I stood on the roof gazing off into the distance, where civilization happily went on. I got a short burst of adrenaline as I though of jumping off the roof, so before i gave it a second thought, I ran towards the edge and jumped.

Oww. Where am I? As soon as i thought it up, a poorly shaved doctor came in the room. “Ah good you’re up. That was quite a fall you took there, two stories and into a hole! All you have is a broken leg though, you are one of the lucky ones.” He smiled. Right on cue, my leg started to ache. I suddenly felt tired, and I fell asleep.
