Did I see it or was I just thinking I did.
With all the stories around and reality programs about Bigfoot and Ghosts you never know what you see is real or just a left over from an active imagination. So this is what happened the other night.
It was the typical cold January in Kansas with the full moon. Doing my regular nightly walk outside with the dogs I was just standing there enjoying the bright full moon when I heard the flap of wings. Just a bit louder and what seemed to be a big bird. So figuring to see an owl land in the tree I started to look around. That was when I heard the scraping on the house roof. There in the glow of a full moon , perched upon my roof was a figure. Not an owl or such but the figure of something bigger , much bigger.
About the size of a small child or a chimp with wings this creature was sitting on the peak of my roof with the moon behind it. The wings were large and bat like and when it spread them I could see through them in the moonlight. I was frozen where I stood just amazed at the sight of this creature. That’s when my dogs spotted it and let loose like never before. This thing turned toward me and stared me in the eye. Its eyes blinked and glowed with this dull yellow glow. I heard a low hiss or growl and it spread its wings and with one flap of its wings was gone. In the moon light I could still make it out flying off into the darkness. All this happened in an instant and left me not sure I saw anything. My dogs still staring as I was at the roof began to wimper for me to say something to calm them.
I was left shaking and not sure it really happened. So I went inside to think it all over. Did I really see a creature on my roof or not. Still to this day I am not sure but I know on thing I never go out at night with out being armed. And I have never told anyone about this yet because I feel that no one would believe me. I just hope some day I read about someone else seeing the same thing.
