Veronica looked at her mobile phone, Friday evening and the time was 12:00 PM. She was standing outside a sleazy old bar, she remembered the bar from when she was a young child, playing across the streets where the playground used to be located. she hated this area…
Veronica looked around her, the streets were bathed in darkness, normally not the place where she would go.

Veronica opened the door and walked in…
It was like she had stepped over a border and gone back in time… The air, if there were any, was heavy and a cloud of smoke lay as a border between the atmospheres. Veronica smiled as she walked over to the bar, before sitting down, she bended over and lifted her skirt a little bit too correct one of her stockings. The room had seemed louder before she went inside, but everything had dimmed down to a subtle whisper, with old studying stares behind them.
The bartender came limping over to her “What will it be?” he asked with a rough manly voice. How Veronica just loved the roughness of decay in its slow moving way, as man reached his own end. Veronica smiled “Well handsome I would just love a double scotch’s”. The bartender smiled and took the bottle and poured the drink “Here you go Lady”. He went back to the opposite end of the bar and reengaged in a whispering conversation.
She looked around and noticed that there were no women in the bar, but then again, the bar had a reputation of having a lot of bar fights but also a couple of murders. Veronica looked intensely at the men there, not starring them down, but quickly analyzing their behaviours. As she slowly smoked her cigarette, her hunting genes were set in motion when she saw the perfect man. He was sitting at the back of the room with a couple of his mates, they were trying to push one of their friends to his feet, while nudging in her direction. She was not a slow cat, so she knew that they were trying to make him go over to talk to her. But it was not the one she had her eyes on. They finally shoved the young man so much, that he almost dropped to the ground but was saved by his own quick reaction. With a little jump on his feet, he stuffed his shirt into his pants and made an effort to look a little bit bigger over the shoulders.
