I’ve always thought those programs about extraterrestrial life on those silly history and educational channels on the televisions were kind of ridiculous. Sure, the pyramids sure are mind blowing, but really, aliens? Ha. 

No, we’ve been around for millions of years. We’re behind pretty much everything you think was a huge step for mankind. We’re pretty much the reason your petty race is still here. But now, we are done. 

I saw it all happen. I was there when you all arrived. You all looked like small hunch backed monkeys that walked on the two hind legs. A few thousand years later, and what do you know? A bunch of what you like to call Neanderthals. Then we realized, they have tools. A new possibly intelligent species. At first we thought, “Look at the opportunity set in front of us, things to do our bidding if we teach them.”, but soon everyone of us had found that your peoples will was too strong.  Barely able to do anything more than grunt to communicate, but more stubborn that of what you humans call a mule. 

As time advanced you slowly began realizing that hunting for your food everyday wasn’t working too well and that if you put these things in the ground they grow up and you can eat it. Soon there were many of you living in one place. We started to see the basis of language arrive. Then what was the startings of religion. Then your people decided to start using your brains. 

We saw your potential and invested in it. I know, crazy thought that a advanced civilization like ours with a organized government that is still around and technology that has only gone forward from slipspace, artificial gravity and light travel (just to name a few) would gain anything from the pathetic human race. But the brains of your race thought very differently than that of ours. In fact, after stealing some of the most bright individuals who regarded us as “Demons” “Monsters” and even the occasional “Gods” (Bright?Ha.) we actually had inspiration for new technologies or ideas. We managed to keep our existence on this now pathetic planet a secret for quite a while. We met a group, the Egyptians, you call them in your tongue, they had thought up a orthodox religion of some kind and when we revealed ourselves to them, we were instantly “Gods”. We learned little from them that we had already gained from them but we were able to help them with the pyramids. A kind of ironic gift to ourselves showing off our superiority by making slaves of a people who didn’t know they were enslaved. 

Fast forward quite a bit and people forgot. We wiped out what evidence there was left of us. Now you humans think of us as extraterrestrials (even though we’ve been here far longer than you.) and although we learned some from you people you’re not very useful to us. In fact you’re starting to get on the path that got us to superiority in the first place. Thing is, when we finally make contact, it would be horrible. The things we’ve learned from humans is they eventually kill what they encounter. As if the earth isn’t a sign of that already. You’re people are like pesky mosquitoes to us. They are insignificant until the Malaria sets in. And if we allow you to gain the technology that would put you even with the level we are at, we as a normally peaceful population would be destroyed over time. So to ensure that we shall survive, we shall ensure that your humankind does not.
