The day when I almost lost my Cutie Pie.

Walk with my Cutie Pie

I returned after taking my daily walk through the lanes in my garden, backyard with bunches of roses and lilies all over and few of my grandmother’s green leafy vegetables and sprouts because she follows a strict diet for healthy life.

When I stood near the portico enjoying the fresh morning breeze, quite happy with the nature’s beauty, I felt someone pulling off my shoe lays. The moment I looked down, I saw a small cute puppy, actually one of my favourite breed, Labrador.

The only word which I blurt out watching its blue honey eyes were “Cutie Pie just Landed from Newfoundland”!!!! I knew she would be my best companion from the very next moment.

I started my research on Labrador Retrievers, their likes and dislikes. Everything seemed to be so unique about the breed. And, of all my cutie pie is the most loving dog and my best friend.

To let her get acquainted with the new surroundings, we let her go her way. My uncle brought her from his friend’s house when her mother and father left to London, leaving her sister Ruby and herself. The very first cute moments that I still cherish about her is that she cannot avoid peeing when she finds a door mat or carpet anywhere.

For the first few days, My sisters had been very keen in teaching her to ask for food on-time and to let her go out for a stroll or make some sweet weird noise for us to wake up and take care of her. I was happy to get this golden yellow shade Labrador rather than the chocolate shade.

She was just weeks older, born in the month of June, she was going to be a perfect Leo. So, one fine day when I was taking her for stroll, she caught sight of monkeys and started running frantically after them while they were busy jumping from one tree to another. I was able to gather myself and ran some miles which almost seemed like years.

I lost sight of her, my sweet little Labrador. After wandering in the street for about an hour, I returned home thinking about my cutie pie. I didn’t want to tell anyone that cutie pie was lost. As usual, it was dinner time and my grandmother managed to set supper ready for her and started calling her. No whimpering or that sweet bow-bow!!!! I knew I had to let her know that I lost my cuddly pup.

Just then, I heard her thuds that she always makes with her paws while walking. There she was, my heart leapt out for a second and she was in my arms, wagging her tail and jumping on me….Later on, we all had great supper, especially my cutie pie and me happily munching!!! Thereafter, I made a cute stylish pink ribbon for her with my address and name so that if she ever lost her way, she would find her way back home.

Of course, she returned home this time in pace with sniffing my perfume because I was there at the corner of the street.
