Thoughts on growing love of travelling.
I never thought to travel far, my home was always quite enough;
I feared the thought of flying high, and that any sea might be too rough;
I’d miss my family, miss my cat, so many other thoughts like that.
What temptation could there be that might entice ’sit-at-home’ me?
Maybe a little distance hence? And so for the tennis I went to France!
A great big step, I must agree, surely that was enough for me?
But Art and History treasures called and off to Italy I flew -
What an experience, what a thrill, pleasures everywhere so new;
The feeling, up there in the clouds, over land and sea,
Over mountains, tall and grand was breathtaking for little me!
Surely now my journeying days were through, and I would rest at home
But round the corner, oh what joy, new adventures were still to come!
Friendships fostered round the world called to me to travel more ,
Across the oceans, through the skies guess where I am heading for?
First I’ll go to Canada, maybe that’s not long to wait;
And meet those dear friends that I love, Oh that will be a happy date!
Next Australia beacons to me, to meet my Aussie ‘family’.
But all the miles that I may cross and all the sights that I may see,
While thrilling too my heart and soul, will not keep me from my own family.
I’ll return home with tales to tell, as I settle down with those that I love so well.
But all the miles that I may cross, and all the sights that I may see,
