Boom went the cannon; suddenly about 50 feet away from me the wall broke. The castle was under attack. I scurried up to my post. My jaw dropped open. We were surrounded by the Roman army.

          “FIRE!” screamed the captain. I grabbed a bolt, loaded my crossbow, and aimed for the captain. I felt the impact as it fired suddenly, and I saw the captain sink to the ground. Shrieks came up from the Roman army we were winning big time in no time they started to flee. I was shocked. I knew we would probably win but not this fast.

Later are general was asking us who killed the captain of the Romans. We all raised are hands. He looked puzzled, and then he said because they’re in trouble. Now I was the only one who raised my hand.

          “You.” he said and they all new it was me, and so did the captain.

          “Yes sir, I did.”  

          “Well then off to my office.” I knew what he was going to do. We went into his office, and instead of lecturing me he promoted me. I was now a sergeant. Yahoo!I had been promoted I was overjoyed my first thought was to get my best friend, Mathew into the army (by the way sergeants can do that.) but as I thought about it there was a reason that he hadn’t been accepted into the army (he was not a very good fighter.)

I was walking around in the market when a surprise attack came I quickly got to my tower and instead of firing immediately I started to commanding troops (that was my job now) and well doing this I looked down and I saw my best friend Mathew running through the woods toward there camp I tried to shout to him but he was too far away. The army who attacked us backed away I immediately went to the captain and told him what my friend had done he was worried but not as much as me.

I was sitting in my house when their came a familiar knock I at once got up and went to the door sure enough it was Mathew he was patting and motioned for me to come we ran strait to the kings tower. We got to the door and the guards stopped us but Mathew told them he knew about a surprise attack. So they let us in Mathew told the king he had been in the attackers camp and listened to the captain tell his next attack. So the king got all the troops into the right locations and sure enough the attack came and we were ready for it. We took them by surprise because we were in the right positions we almost defeated them but some escaped, Mathew was put in the army as a spy, that worked real well for him.
