This is about real life on love.

I’m sure that almost ¾ of people in this planet knows Sex and the City, the story of Carrie Bradshaw’s and her friends’ relationship stories, and The Starter Wife, the story of Molly Kagan’s recovery from the end of her Hollywood marriage. Both programs were able to show their viewers how to recover from past relationships and go on with life.

Sex and the City. Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha are so lucky to have one another. Their friendship is so strong that they consider each other as family. And do you know their jobs? WOW! All of them are successful! Beautiful, sexy, successful, and lives in New York! They have every girl’s dream! Every time that one of them has a problem with love, they gather together in a bar or fancy restaurants to talk things over; they even go to one’s apartment. I remember in the movie, when Mr. Big didn’t show up for their wedding, the four of them all went to Mexico, in the resort where Carrie and Mr. Big are supposed to have their honeymoon, despite their job or family commitments. WOW, right? Those girls really know how to support a friend! In most of the scenes on the series, the broken hearted one would meet a new guy sooner than expected. Then, she would be totally over the guy that broke her heart. Lucky girls! Again, they aare beautiful, successful, sexy, and lives in New York!

The Starter Wife. Molly Kagan’s husband cheated on her and divorced her. They have a little girl that lives with Molly and spends weekend with her dad. Since Molly’s husband is a Hollywood producer, she and her child have more than enough money for themselves; but Molly still wants to have a job or business of her own. Like Carrie Bradshaw, Molly too have friends. She have a lot but only few are true to her; I mean, come on, it’s Hollywood! Anyway, her friends are composed of different types of people but all of them are successful or rich! They have their own problems but again, it shows they can easily recover from those problems because they have one another.

What’s wrong with those two series? I mean, both shows give a lesson and shows inspiration and they are both definitely entertaining. But still there’s something wrong with it. Got a guess?

Either shows’ stories or advices are not realistic for every broken hearted women. Yes, they’re both inspiring and is very entertaining, yet, after watching it, all the inspiration and hope that you got from it will be gone. WHY? Because most women are not like them. Not all of us are as beautiful, powerful, successful, or confident as they are. Most of us are just simple women who can afford a simple lifestyle with our simple friends. Most of us can’t afford to travel or go to bars and restaurants to have a good time anytime we want. For women with children, not all of them get financial support from their kid’s father. So, how about us? How can we recover from a broken heart?

Well, luckily for us we also have what Molly and Carrie have…FRIENDS. So what if our friends just have a simple lifestyle like us? So what if they also need to spend most of their time working to survive? So what if you don’t see them often? They are still friends, and true friends will always, take note, ALWAYS find a way to be with us when we need them. I remembered when I got separated with my husband, all of my friends have work yet they went to see me at 5 o’ clock in the morning to comfort me and make me feel that I’m not alone. That’s one more thing, friends make sure that you know that you’re never alone.

For single mothers, we’re lucky that we have our kid/s with us unlike vice versa. Our children give us the reason to go on with life. We need to be strong for them. They need us to survive like we need them to go on.

Come to think of it, we are just like Carrey and Molly after all. We, too, are strong women and I’m sure we also give inspiration. Well, I’m sure I did.
