A thrilling tale of Weeping Angels and how they got to Earth.
In a world not too far from ours lived a species very close to us. They were imaginative, artistic creatures. Their favorite art style was the removing of materials to make three dimensional arts. Statues were of the first and most widely used of other types. These statues were angelic and beautiful, each was a master piece. Many were described as having feather wings, a long robe, a caring gesture, and solemn faces. But, their beauty was not enough for these ancient aliens. Life was needed in these statuses, but one does not merely turn inanimate objects to life. Their advanced science and knowledge of quantum physics allowed for the sculptures to be alive, but only in another dimension. A hidden aspect had emerged when thousands had been treated with this false life that was injected into the statues. When any living creature looks at the statue its life seizes to exist in our realm, but, once it is not being watched, its life continues in our realm. One amazing side effect of this life giving process and curse is that if the statues themselves can “see” one another, they are forever stuck in their lifeless form until their sight of each other is broken. When observing Weeping angel, they are lifeless, but a simple blink is enough for them to move an incredible distance in that short amount of time. This terrified the ancient aliens so much that it was ordered that the statues be crushed and compacted. Some aliens had viewed their statues as idols, gods even. Many were stowed away into safe houses and left to be isolated from the rest of the world. The statues, aware of their curse, put their hands to their eyes to where they could not look at each other. Many had a sad expression and were often thought to be weeping. Rooms were filled with angelic weeping statues. Occasionally a child would visit the angelic statues and tell them of the outside world and why they were being destroyed. In the statues’ “minds” they thought that the aliens were wrong in destroying them out of mere paranoia. It needed immediate correcting.
After several time cycles, the planet was in turmoil. The monstrosities which used to be known as masterpieces are now known as Weeping Angels. Often, Weeping Angels worked alone as to avoid looking at each other. They had become like lonely assassins. Every small chance that was offered, a Weeping Angel would move in for the kill, moving ever so silently and swiftly, also while staying hidden from view. If spotted, it would be in a position to where it looked harmless. Some may even be found in a welcoming gesture with arms open and a smile on its face. The aliens would be convinced that it was a statue that hasn’t been injected with the false life and wander closer to the assassin waiting for the prey to blink. Once the alien had blinked, it would already be too late for it to react.
The ancient aliens mustered up the last remaining resources and built a space-worthy vehicle to move on to the closest planet, The Horizon of Newness. Earth. The destruction of the alien home world has left everything in ruins. Not a single structure stands and the entire population has been killed or forced to move into underground bunkers. The Horizon of Newness, which is the last hope for the ancient alien race, is ready to blast off. The child, who spoke to the Weeping Angels and possibly caused this mass chaos, was persuaded to smuggle a few hundred Weeping Angels into The Horizon of Newness.
Once The Horizon of Newness had landed on Earth, the last remaining remnants of aliens were scattered when it was heard that there are Weeping Angels aboard. Over a period of several thousands of years, the aliens evolved and adapted to their surroundings, and gave themselves the name of humans. As generations passed, they continued making new statues, forgetting their fear of the Weeping Angels. The Weeping Angels saw this as an opportunity and blended in with the lifeless statues, waiting for their turn to take a life. Many are in public, crowded places, forever in the state of lifelessness. Others are frozen in place in the sight of another Weeping Angel. Some are still moving freely in gardens and forests, just waiting for their time to continue their massacre.
