The (unscientific) story revealing the reason behind why there are season.
Long ago, just after the world was first created, there were four immortals that controlled the weather. The immortals; Chronos, Mateus, Renetta and Alura, all had different ideals and visions for what they wanted the world to be. They realized that they would not come to an agreement, so they decided to divide Earth into four main regions; one for each god and goddess.
Each deity worked hard to form their land into what they thought to be more desirable. Chronos made his land hot, with everlasting sun. Mateus covered the skies of his land with clouds so that it would always rain. Renetta also covered her skies with a thick blanket of clouds, but she dropped the temperature so it would always snow. Alura made the temperature drop, but only to a certain degree so that the leaves on her trees would change colour.
Soon enough, every divine being had created their own personal paradise. But they grew tired and bored, and soon they wanted more land to work on. All four immortals prepared to fight one another for more land, and while they were making their preparations, each was visited by Felix, the Time Goddess’ apprentice. Sheira, the Goddess of Time, did not believe in interfering with the flow of time, and she gave Felix strict instructions never to open any of the many magical hourglasses she possessed. But Felix went to the four anyway, against his master’s wishes, because he felt that it was his job to protect the world. He knew that if the deities waged war against one another then Earth would be spoiled, and could never be returned to its original beauty.
Felix stole one of the hour glasses from Sheira; the Earth’s hour glass, which controlled it’s time. He knew that each grain of sand in the hour glass represented one of the Earth’s days, leading to the idea which had formed in his mind. He’d decided to break the hour glass, and divide the sand into four. Then he’d went around to Chronos, Mateus, Renetta and Alura, telling them to enchant the sand that he gave them so that their magic would affect the world for the rest of its existence.
Each immortal thought that they’d been given a way to rule over the whole world by themselves, simply by enchanting a few grains of sand. However, when Felix put the hour glass back together, he only put a few grains of sand from each one together, so that the divine beings would only rule the world for a short amount of time until it was the next ones turn.
His work done, Felix went back to the goddess of time, knowing that no matter how angered the deities were, they would be bound by the magical hour glass, helpless to change their fate. Felix even thought that Sheiramight forgive him for stealing Earth’s hour glass, but when he came back she was furious.
The Goddess of Time suspended Felix, so that he was unable to do anything to alter his destiny, just like the immortals. She then set him on a cloud to drift over the world forever, doomed to watch the Earth slowly turn from a beautiful paradise to a wasteland, changed by the creatures that could now inhabited it due to the Earths four new seasons; summer, winter, spring and fall.
