A story about life getting so crazy, you have to find the humor in it.
Joan opened the passenger door and placed Summer on the chair. A huge gust of wind made the door slam into Joan’s back. Joan’s long blonde hair flew violently in the wind while she tried to get Summer’s jeans off. It was really cold outside with the arctic wind pounding and jolting the truck. Summer shouted, “I’m cold!” All she had on now was a t-shirt as she lied in her poopy diaper which was now wide open. Joan groaned, “oh my god!” and turned her head back into the wind. I looked over and saw a big poopy mess. Joan caught my eye and had a look of complete despair. One hand held up Summer’s legs and the other one held on to the overflowing poopy diaper. She pursed her lips and gagged a little. Tears began to well up in her eyes. These weren’t tears of sadness but tears from fighting back the vomit.
I lost it. I couldn’t help it. I laughed so hard. The wind, the gagging, the poop, Summer was so cold. It was so cold! This was the most ridiculous scene I had ever witnessed. “I’m coming!” I shouted in between fits of hysterical laughing. I climbed out of the truck forcing the door open against the wind. I walked over into the wind which could almost hold me up without my effort. Once I got to Joan, I discovered she couldn’t wait and threw up in her hair and on the ground…just a little. I grabbed Summer’s legs and went to work, “I’ll do it. You go. I can do this. Meet us inside.” Joan walked away. I continued to laugh and almost peed a little in my pants. There’s nothing like a little windy poop to lighten everything up…for me anyway.
By the time we got into the store, Joan, her hair wet from rinsing it out in the bathroom, stood there laughing too. We hugged. “Are you okay?” I asked. “I will be,” she responded. We both knew this was about more than the windy poop incident. We chuckled again and finished our shopping in better moods and happy to be sisters.
