Winter sunrise towards the western Mediterranean. The photo was taken by the end of February early in the morning, about one hour after sunrise in a short flight between Alicante and Barcelona. Under us, the snowed hills of the Montseny mountains covered with fresh snow just a couple of days before. In the background, the sun reflected in the waters of the Maresme area coastline. There were scattered clouds and in general good visibility tending to improve during the day. This was the first clear night after a few days of dark skies. In a couple of days more, most of that snow was gone, helped by the sun and the roots of the trees.
