A Lineal Fairy Tale; A simple reminder that we all have our wolves.
A child in white walked down a path through the forest to her grandmother’s house. Her mother had told her to stay on the path the whole way there. The path was narrow and straight and the child could not see far into the dense forest to either side of her in the dawn’s light.
As the child walked down the path she noticed a bird laying very still on the ground just to one side. Curious she left the path to approach the bird. Up close it was like nothing she had ever seen before. The bird’s head was twisted to one side and when she touched it the bird didn’t budge an inch.
“It’s dead, child”
The wolf was tall and had black fur. It was standing next to an open grave just beside the bird. The wolf looked down at the child sadly.
The child looked at the wolf confused, wondering at his meaning.
“When something dies it doesn’t move anymore, we bury it in the ground so that we no longer have to see it.”
The child picked up the bird and placed it into the open grave, covering it with dirt. Then the wolf gobbled her up.

A little girl in blue skipped down a path through the forest to her grandmother’s house. Her mother had told her to stay on the path the whole way there. The path was narrow and straight and the little girl could see flowers growing at the edge of the dense forest to either side of her in the morning’s light.
As the little girl walked down the path she passed a grave to one side of her. “Our bodies go in ground, so that our spirits may soar.” The little girl quoted her mother and she continued down the path.
Further on she came to a pond. It was on the other side of the flowers, and just at the edge of her vision. Fearless she left the path to approach the pond. Up close the water was a clear blue and she could see fish swimming around inside. It was so beautiful she had to touch it, and when she leaned forward she felt something push her in. The little girl plunged into the water face first and immediately began struggling to breath. It wasn’t long before everything went dark and silent.
