Based and inspired by Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and Avril Lavigne’s Alice.

Twelve year old Joan Hatley has always been full of imagination. She decided to write them all down, but as each imagination became different to the last she discovers that her dream of writing a complete untold story is harder than she thought but what happened to the story of "WONDERLAND?"

When Nina Foster was born, they called her an Angel but she was nothing but a Devil with Angelic eyes showing the world her fake innocence. Hammersmith was a part of London, full of people like Nina. They’ll drag you down just to make their own lives better.

“Joan…Joan!” Ms Lloyd was my form tutor at my new school, I didn’t like her methods of teaching and the fact that she always woke me up during a thoughtful daydream. “Yes?” I asked.

“Do you have your assignment done, the famous untold story of Thomas Edisonthat you’ve been bragging about for weeks?” Ms Lloyd impatiently asked. I knew the answer, it was the same answer as all the other previous answers, “No I haven’t got it finished.” Mum said the reason I couldn’t finish a book was because I have not the intellectual mind that a writer needs, it was true, I don’t know any intelligent words and English was my weakest subject at school. But I love to dream and my dreams varied from being the Prime Minister to walking down the Red Carpet with Jennifer Aniston and Bradley Cooper…as my slaves, no that is cruel!

As a child I was always, strangely in love with the film The Secret Garden, how this place was so beautiful and only newly discovered, it is a bit like the book Alice in Wonderland where she dreams a life with talking animals and adventure. I’ve always wanted to write a book like that, but then that story is already told.

That night I slept at ease. It was a 9PM to 7AM sleep but still I woke wanting to go back to bed, not because I was tired but because I needed to know the ending of my dream, in order to write it all down. “Mum, I had a dream last night, it was about this glorious enchanted forest and” -

“And let me guess…there was a witch and she tired to feed you a poisonous apple?” Mum smiled handing my lunchbox and forcing me into the car for school. “No, that story is already told! I am looking for an untold story and I think my dream was untold…anyway in my dream there was loads of famous writers, like Roald Dahl, C.S Lewis, Jacqueline Wilson and”-  “School, now, tell me your dream later, I have to go to work!” Mum practically yelled me out of the car. I wish I could go somewhere, like a Wonderland, like Alice’s Wonderland without the manic adventures and just lye breathing in the simplicity! I wonder what I’d look like as a cartoon?

“Joan do you have that assignment.” Ms Lloyd asked for what seemed the millionth time and even by now she knew the answer; before I answered I looked out to the pre-summer sun, lurking over the city and wished for a little more adventure in my life, my own personal Wonderland!

“Joan…Joan!” Oh not again!
