In English we were given a Word Splash that we had to write a story about. And here is what I came up with…

During the death-mark’d and fatal civil war foes were everywhere. For hours on end soldiers spilled their blood protecting all with in the Union. They removed the ones who were to be buried, mended the scene after each battle. Rage filled children’s hearts as their parents met death. Fearful lovers who loved their country held a grudge against the South. Two whole weeks went by with even more loss of life, now the stage is set for the patient Union to take forth death to the South. At Gettysburg unclean soil was to be washed with the blood of men, from the South and Union alike. Piteous fair maidens now cared for the wounded. One pair for every wounded, they toiled over each one in an attempt to make a new man out of the bloodied body that lay before them. Ears perked up when news about the battle hands itself to the strife filled soldiers on both sides. Passage on the field was heavy with traffic. Continuance with the battle led to the breaking of the southern lines. After the dignity of the United States was restored, a plot to overthrow Lincoln was established. Now this is ancient history the story of a divided country that came together once again at that address at Gettysburg to attend you would have to been able to take a chance, but you would be rewarded by the sound of Abraham Lincoln addressing the country that a “house divided cannot stand…”. This story is told in the household, in schools around America.

If you havent noticed or just in case the words in this word spalsh are words from the first fourteen lines form the play The Tragedy Of Romeo and Juliet.
