My third entry into the writing challenge series.

The Bride

As he steps down on one knee and takes his soon to be fiance’s hand and speak the four magical words that every guy wants to say and every girl wants to hear, “Will you marry me?” The “yes” is always the biggest relief for the guy, and it always is so sweet and romantic. This, however, is not one of those stories.

“Oh you look so beautiful, dear,” the proud mother said to her daughter, a soon to be bride.

“Yes mom, but I don’t love him,” the daugther replied looking a lot more annoyed then happy, as she was getting a marvelous wedding dress fitted by the family personal tailor.

“You will learn to love him, it will be a great honor marrying such a man.”

The soon to be bride, however, was not convinced.

The day of the wedding rolled by, this was a very important day for two families who had feuded for a long time and this would finally resolve all of those problems with an eternal bondage that is marriage.

The church was gorgeous, quite a spectacle by itself. There were thousands of while flowers and balloons all hung up in an elegant fashion. The altar was decked out in white and it was beyond imaginable. The bride was the most beautiful thing by far within a ten mile radius of the church. She was wearing a long white dress with tinsel and ruffles in her hair. She wore a small diamond crown, this was her night, not for the marriage but for another reason.

The Artist

On a majestic field an artist and his father were gazing upon the landscape, brush in hand, slate in the other they painted vigorouslybut they painted with a special type of finesse.

“Father, I can’t do this anymore,” the young artist cried and stood up.

“What do you mean?” The old man looked up from his easel his voice very soothing and calm.

“I need to paint real beauty, like the most beautiful woman in the world. I can’t live with painting cows and the land.” He replied

“Understood. You should go to town tomorrow, Saturday, there might be a wedding paint the bride get all the beauty out of her and put it on the paper.” The old man suggested

The artist agreed and the next day he took his paint and a large piece of paper rolled up and went to town. He got to the church and he saw that there, in fact, was a wedding going on or soon to be. He went inside and immediately fell in love with the only thing that crossed his eyes. It was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, dressed in a lovely wedding dress. He knew this day would be one where he triumphs.

They Lock Eyes

He apporoached her and he asked in a gentle voice, “May I paint a picture of you, you are more beautiful then anything I have ever seen.” The bride blushed and she fell in love with him as soon as he said “May.” She agreed so they went into a chamber and he began to paint.

He asked about her life and he saw that she was unhappy with her planned marriage. An idea clicked in the clever artist’s head, he suggested she run away with him forever and there they could be happy forever. She smiled and agreed.

They went out of the church unseen and ran away, never to be seen again.

This is a really good story considering a guy has written it! There are some particularly very feminine touches to it. What is this writing challenge because another writer on Triond (Darla Smith) did her entry for the writing challenge! I am just REALLY curious to know what it is about.

That was an enjoyable piece dude – problem is that the bride would soon realise the errors of her ways – marrying a struggling artist is not a charmed life :-)

Good entry to the challenge. Thanks for playing.

Any woman who marries and artist is a lucky woman indeed, as an artist I know this to be true!
