Last week, at lunch time, I went out with my two colleagues to a nearby food court inside a shopping mall.  The place, as usual was packed, very crowded.  We managed to find seats but the table was quite small, but we managed to “squeeze” in.

The food I ordered was very steaming hot.  My two guys colleagues ordered other dishes and they ate very fast.  Three women were standing close to our table, eyeing on our seats, and talking to one another and looked impatient.  we noticed that to eat peacefully seem like very difficult.  I told my two male colleagues not to wait for me to finish, as they also need to go to purchase something at one of the shops at the mall, so they asked me to meet them there after I have finished. 

The three women, immediately grabbed the empty seats, they said in Mandarin to one another, two of them said to one of them “you sit first, we go and order ours”.  After a while, one of them came back with her food, and the other went to buy hers…

The one seated seemed annoyed to see me still eating my food, with her expression.  What to do?  My order was slow earlier, and it was steaming hot, don’t expect me to pour it into my mouth.  I find it very stressful, so quickly ate and blowing with my mouth at the same time, I thought of scolding the woman, but she did not say anything, so I have no ground to scold her.

Then know what, she suddenly opened her golden mouth “you want desserts?”

I was shocked to death “desserts?”  Oh, I must have wronged her, she actually very kind, wanted to buy me desserts.  I asked her “desserts?”, she said “ya, just in case you eating desserts later, then we have to wait even longer, or look out for a bigger table”.  I was both shocked and angry at the same time, and don’t know how to answer her at that time, I said “no, no,…” coldly,  and I quickly ate my food.  The woman said “oh, slowly”.  I feel like giving her a big tight slap….pressing people and yet said “slowly”…

A while later, one of the women returned with her food, and said in Mandarin to her “not yet finish huh?”.   Who is she referring?  I wonder.   I gave her a strong stare, they don’t seem to be sensitive or what, eating and talking non-stop, find them both look ugly and greedy, though they actually dressed up quite trendy.  I quickly finished my food and proceed to look for my two colleagues at the shop (and of course I complained to them about it).

Though the women did not actually done anything to me, but I was quite fed up at that time, find them quite rude, or maybe I am just sensitive, they are normal.  Anyway, I am very sure they will be eating at their own slow pace and talking, won’t be so kind to eat fast, when they expect others to.

Anyway, DESSERTS… read backward, it’s “STRESSED”.
