Until a fatal plane crash in the Bahamas claimed the short life of Aaliyah Dana Haughton, she was already living a life full of accomplishments, such that most of us can only dream of. Aaliyah biography started when she was born in January 16, 1979 in Brooklyn but raised in Detroit, she lived life very purposefully.

About the singer/performer Aaliyah who died in a plane crash in 2001. She was a great influence and idol in my life as far as music goes. I am a singer myself, and I looked up to her in many ways. This was a way for me to show my respect for what she did and who she was in the short years she had here on earth.
