Ever so often you may find yourself in a challenging situation which requires only that you speak when nobody wishes to hear the truth. This poem is about the inner conflict which ensues as much as it is an outsider’s observation of what happens when that person fails to take a stand, whether the consequences be small or grand.

In any discussion of good governance, two words stand out – accountability and transparency. Some people are embracing accountability with fervour – finding social sanction for finger pointing and public shaming. Others are shying away from accountability for the same reasons.
