“Speech of Alexander the Great”
326 B.C.; Hydaspes River, India.

Alexander the Great conquered many kingdoms and built up a large empire that consisted most parts of three continents of the then-known ancient world. Lying on his death bed he requested three wishes expressing his anguish over the failure of his victories.

I stumbled upon Alexander Woollcott’s quote "Nothing risqué nothing gained" and felt there was a short poem just aching to burst out. This is my attempt.
