Chapter one of the Criminal Chronicles.

Something that really annoys me is dark writing whose only purpose is to be dark. I’m all for dark writing (Edgar Allen Poe is one of my favorite authors), but generally, if your writing is dark (to continually use the phrase,) and your mindset is one of, "I’m so dark and individualistic," I REALLY do not want to read anything by you.

So this story is almost a counterargument to those pasty people who can be found lurking in a Starbucks and typing on their macs or reading Twilight; This story is a dark instruction with a very happy ending.

There was one this community of writers I once belonged to called “This Is By Us” or TIBU; three women inspired me to write and strangely enough I don’t talk to any of them anymore. In this story I was dreaming of a girl, a girl that would never want me, need me or love me; this was years ago and the truth is no girl will ever be the girl I wrote of.

A poem of the time of darkness.

I had an idea for a dtory, and so I wrote it – it is a sort of alternate world. You know how when you’re little, you always think “maybe i”m actually a princeess’ or “what if it turned out my parents are actually aliens”? well, in the story that this prolougues, that’s sort of what happens. But no aliens. I don’t know wether to go on with the story,so your comments will be crucial in that decision! the small, italicised parts are footnotes. READ THEM. please.
