A dramatic short involving a couple dealing with Alzheimer’s.

An elderly woman refuses to accept the passing of her caretaker husband. Is it just the Alzheimer’s, or is her mind protecting itself from the harsh truth? Will she be reunited with him in the end?

This is a poem I wrote to and about my father after he was unable to communicate he thoughts or physically unable to control his body. I tried to understand what he must have been feeling and thinking. Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and dementia.

Alzheimer’s is a terrible illness which I have watched grip those that I love. Its not just the person with Alzheimer’s that suffers but also their most loved. This poem is about that. My journal of experiences of seniors living in a nursing home.

After working on an Alzheimer’s unit, with a relative I had an epiphany one night. I hope it is as clear an explanation as it felt when it occurred to me.

A letter which I wish I could receive from my Grandfather but never will due to the circumstance. I was asked in class today to write a inspirational letter to myself from the point of view of a family member.
