"This Dance" is a poem written one day when I was feeling obstinate, acrid, and arbitrarily rebellious. So instead of lashing out at myself and the world by sitting for seventeen hours in a bar getting obnoxiously drunk and maybe even arrested, all as a protest to prove that I was not a boring, bland, and overly compliant conformist (oh yeah THAT will show ‘em!) as I would have done in my drinking days, I wrote this poem.
