On my son’s fifth birthday; he received a large cowboy doll named Woody that he had been wanting for a long time. He was so happy; he began announcing his good fortune to anyone who would listen, usually customers in the store as we were shopping, saying, “I’ve got a giant Woody!”

By all accounts, the leafy sea dragon is native only to the waters of the western and southern Australian coastline. So why did my son and I spot one while snorkeling in Hawaiian waters?

Too many behave like goldfish…

A unique creature came to visit me one Spring, and I kept him as a pet for just over one year: a gray tree frog. This amphibian would live in an aquarium but often would escape and jump over into my shower/tub, so I just let him stay there.
