This poem deals with a camp fire that went awry causing the Arizona wildfire of May 8, 2011. It describes the measures being taken to bring it under control. The fire continues to threaten communities as it fans out through the Apache and Sitgreaves National Forests.

Okay, so here is why I should write children’s stories.
So I was bored a while back and was waiting for someone to pick me up so I could go over their house and while doing that I decided to use my phone to write a story. So I wrote this up as the second longest text message I’ve ever written and sent it to four of my friends. I got responses from three of them and they all seemed to have the same reaction: "What the hell are you on?"
But I can promise you, I was perfectly sober and always have been.
The other friend I sent it to gave me her response the next day at school with a surprisingly strong, trachea crushing strangle-hug. I have a feeling she enjoyed it.
So one out of four oddballs approve of this story.
