If a person puts a wall up around them, they won’t be able to live life to the fullest. The armor, the wall, can drag a person down. It can protect the person in some ways, but it can also hurt them from really living a full life.

Armor, the 1984 novel by author John Steakley, was one writer’s first experience with hardcore military science fiction literature, and it has had its influence not only upon that writer but upon many writers and novelists since then. Without Armor, and Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein, today we might not have much the military sci-fi there is to enjoy.

How many possibilities are there?

This is a poem I have been struggling with for a couple of months now. It’s about war, and violent death, and history, and doesn’t quite say what I want it to say yet, but I am putting it up for some feed back.

This tells of a person that has had a dream since childhood of being able to visit and take a tour of a real stone castle. This goes on to explain what the 17th century was like when there were knights and damels in distress.

How did they find us? How were they so prepared? What could have tipped them off? Suspicions grow… there is only one thing this could possibly mean… there is a spy among us…
