My father died after ten years of Alzheimers. In the end he did not know me or my mother. But as an organist and accomplished musician, he could and did play the piano right up until the week before his death. He always played the Carillon bells every Christmas and New Years Eve for many years, hence the last lines of this poem, which I wrote shortly before his death.
