Continue Reading30 Years ago, when I was very young, I got fed up with society and dropped out for a while. The place I chose to camp out for four months, was an empty house in a place called “The Downs” up in the mountains near Tzaneen, a town in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. This is part of the Drakensberg Mountain Range and was called Die Wolkberg (The Cloud Mountain).
This place is the true backdrop to some of my stories.
The title of this essay I stole from a book by Harry Klein, describing his journey in this same valley.
