Continue ReadingThis poem is an ode to Williamsburg, located in Brooklyn, right off of the Williamsburg Bridge. For the past three and a half years, I’ve been going to high school here. And I’ve learned so much because of it and not just in academics. I guess that when I take strolls around the neighborhood, I’ll come across the imagery that became this poem. It came in the form of radio reporter, who discovered him on the street, holding a sign to draw attention to his exceptional voice. When Williams spoke to reporters, he knew that this place is definitely not a man on the street, but the moderator’s chair behind the microphone.

Continue ReadingThis poem took me a small while to put together. The city I’m from is Brooklyn and ALL Brooklyn natives have similar feelings on how they feel of their streets. Brooklyn seems to be my streets. This is pretty much an ode to Brooklyn which all my ideas I worked on took me a small amount of time to put into actual words, organize them into lines and stanzas and form them into a poem.
