This is a poem about a hiking down a previously unknown trail and finding a gate deep in the woods and the curiosity and mystery of what might be found on the hill beyond the gate.

I fell asleep in the AM hours recently and dreamed I was riding on the open prairie.The covered wagon gave me protection from the sun but not its intense heat.In my long dress and well worn bonnet,all I wanted was to reach our destination and build a new home.Why I remembered this dream I will really never know but here is my dream in written form.

Santa Clause asked me what I wanted this Christmas season since I was on the good list.I could have asked for anything but there was only one thing I really wanted for Christmas.But could the legendary Santa Clause grant my solitary wish?If he couldnt I would understand and wish for something else instead.Just playing around with the upcoming holiday,naghty thoughts and a well known legend.

Every couple needs to get away on occasion and just be by yourself.I dreamed this up going on an idea an ex boyfriend gave me.
