I wrote this poem this year for a poetry project we had in my AP Literature & Composition class. I got the idea after remembering a certain event. I Facebooked a popular girl the day we got out for winter break, and I basically poured my heart out to her. How amazing she was, how pretty, and how thoughtful she was for actually trying to talk to me in class – no other girl of such high social class did.
She never replied. And she hasn’t talked to me since.

I live in a little wooden “house” in the backyard of my landlady’s home. Between the ferns, flowers and other flora, my little home is situated. At night I hear the squirrels rattle across the flat roof, which has caused me to jump in my skin a couple of times. But that doesn’t really bother me. I often get unwelcome visitors, namely, spiders, and this is where the inspiration for my topic came from.
