All the Pretty Butterflies was my first performed poem based on an exercise in Creative Writing class on a song called The Dog and the Butterfly by a band called Heart. I chose the butterfly for its symbolism. It is a thing of beauty, it describes a woman who goes about with different men, it is also recognised as something hard to attain, something desired as a collectable.
