An installment short story based on the real life story of a young man rised on a homestead in west Texas, circa 1890. He has just return from a cattle drive into Kansas and is concerned about what to do with the rest of his life.

I fell asleep in the AM hours recently and dreamed I was riding on the open prairie.The covered wagon gave me protection from the sun but not its intense heat.In my long dress and well worn bonnet,all I wanted was to reach our destination and build a new home.Why I remembered this dream I will really never know but here is my dream in written form.

This is my home county and town in Colorado and this is the culture here.

In the novel "Lonesome Dove" by Larry McMurtry, a tale of true friendship spans across years and thousands of miles. And cows. Lots and lots of cows. Or, to be more correct, steers. "Lonesome Dove" is an epic tale, one that would do proud any fantasy or historical fiction reader or writer.
