26 of 50 haiku poems written on Friday, July 1, 2011 to document the day my husband had surgery. Each haiku deals with something that was around me that day from the time I left that morning until we were home and finally went to sleep.

Your a cola can and your just been made at the factory. What’s your next adventure? Are you going to stay in the store all your years then expire to be thrown in the trash, or are you going to be picked up by a human off to the outside world?
